The Bourse de Commerce presents a concert by the British art rock group Still House Plants, on the occasion of the release of their third album If I don’t make it, I love u, published in April 2024 by Bison Records.
Formed ten years ago in Scotland at the Glasgow School of Art, the group Still House Plants composed of guitarist Finlay Clark, drummer David Kennedy and singer Jessica Hickie-Kallenbach offers fractured and sharp music between free abstraction and melodic ruptures, combining sampled elements, minimalist arrangements, low melodies and slow tempo, with a sound that continually breaks and coalesces. After a second album (Fast Edit, 2020), made up of collages and abrupt cuts, the trio fashions If I don’t make it, I love u, with a silent force that gives their music solidity and softness. Jessica Hickie-Kallenbach's voice is deeper, Finlay Clark's guitar is denser and David Kennedy beats the drums harder.
This concert marks the return of Still House Plants to the Bourse de Commerce after a first live performance at the Auditorium in April 2022.
