On the occasion of the 2024 European Heritage Days, the Bourse de Commerce — Pinault Collection is opening its doors to the public free of charge, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., to invite visitors to explore the site’s historic architecture and discover the museum’s exhibitions. Reservations recommended.
Whether as a family, with friends, or by yourself, come wander through the building and discover its iron-frame dome, one of the first ever built in France, along with the Machine Room, the double helix stairwell, and Tadao Ando’s concrete cylinder. Our educators remain available throughout the museum’s spaces to explain the building’s history and point out its various architectural elements, which range from the sixteenth century to the present day. On the third floor, in the Small Salon, you can watch a film that details the Bourse de Commerce’s exceptional reconstruction before the museum opened in 2021.
These are also the final days to discover the carte blanche To Breathe — Constellation by South Korean artist Kimsooja, a monumental work consisting of an immense mirror that covers the floor of the Rotunda in the Bourse de Commerce. Kimsooja has also taken over the 24 display cases in the Passage and the lower level of the museum with works and video installations that address her favourite themes: identity, borders, memory, exile, movement, and weaving
