Veneto Jazz - Nu Fest: Solar Pulsers

Nu Fest, the electronic and contemporary music festival organised by Veneto Jazz, brings the Solar Pulsers concert to the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi.

Connected by the gravitational pulsation of the Buchla, considered to be the first synthesiser in history, the three musicians, Sara Berts, Paolo Dellapiana and Giorgio Li Calzi, interface with visual artist Giampo Coppa and his psychedelic ‘liquid light show’, in a generative flow of flashes and oscillations.

The Buchla is an analogue modular synthesiser created in 1963 by Californian Don Buchla, commissioned by two composers, Morton Subotnick and Ramon Sender, who asked Buchla to design an instrument for their performances.

Buchla instruments are still on the market today after the death of its creator (in 2016), inventor of the voltage-controlled modular synthesiser together with Robert Moog. Two pioneers who created the foundations of fundamental sounds and technologies that have rightfully entered the world of contemporary music.
