Pino Pascali and cinema

Pino Pascali’s work encompasses a wide variety of media: painting, sculpture, advertising, performance, TV sets. French art historian Valérie Da Costa, in her latest book Pino Pascali. Retour à la Méditerranée (2015), offers a new approach to his work through an anthropological perspective and a possible dialogue with the Mediterranean landscape in Pasolini’s films. The relationship between Pascali and cinema is further examined by Marco Giusti’s film Pino Pascali o le trasformazioni del serpente (2003, 50').
The talk dedicated to Pino Pascali is introduced by Santa Nastro (art historian) and presentations by Rosalba Branà (director of the Fondazione Pino Pascali), Valérie Da Costa (art historian) and Marco Giusti (filmmaker).
Marco Giusti's film Pino Pascali o le trasformazioni del serpente (2003, 50') is screened subsequently to the talk.
