Per Olov Enquist
Is one of the most important "critical consciousness" of the Scandinavian society. His work is characterized both by his taste for historical research and his desire to witness the major events of our time. He developed an original style of writing with a documentary and political background, starting from true facts to arrive at a structured story mixing reality and fiction. His novels and plays often portray the characters that have marked the history of Scandinavia – Andersen, Hamsun, Strindberg and Lagerlöf – for which he received numerous awards and recognitions worldwide. He was a member of the Swedish Cultural Council, the Swedish Radio Commission and worked at the League of Writers.
