Teatrino presents the screenings of works by Oleg Tcherny, followed by a talk with the director and other experts.
Oleg Tcherny was born in 1971 in Minsk (Belarus). Influenced by the work of Giorgio Agamben, he suspends the progression of images through a process of vertical editing. Shot in HD, his videos sound out the thickness of time, pushing the boundaries of visual, auditory, and conceptual abstraction. His films have been shown in a number of international festivals such as Locarno, Rotterdam, Viennale, and Biennale di Venezia.
The screenings are followed by a talk with Oleg Tcherny, P. Adams Sitney (Theorist of American avant-garde cinema, co-founder of the Anthology Film Archives ) and Daniel Heller Roazen (Philosopher).
