I Boreali: Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen

I Boreali, festival dedicated to North European Culture created by the publisher Iperborea, is back at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi. After author Frederik Sjöberg, this year’s guest is the young Danish author, Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen, who will introduce her book Isola, with live reading sessions.

Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen was born in 1980 and grew up in Denmark in a family originating in the Faroe Islands. After studying humanities, she dedicated herself to writing, collaborating with many newspapers, but it is with her first novel Isola that she came to prominence. Written in a poetic and audacious prose suggesting powerful images, Isola is a tribute to the Faroe Islands. An autobiographical novel about the consequences of marginalisation, the role of the loved ones and the need of roots as well as a place to call home.

Programme:
Siri Ranva Hjelm Jacobsen in conversation with journalist Natascha Lusenti.
Live reading session by actress Silvia Piovan.

Performance by author and singer Valerio Millefoglie dedicated to Arto Paasilinna’s books.

Event conceived and organised by Iperborea in collaboration with Libreria MarcoPolo and Palazzo Grassi – Punta della Dogana.
