Palazzo Grassi and the history of its exhibitions
The conference Palazzo Grassi and the history of its exhibitions, curated by Stefano Collicelli Cagol, is the first appointment dedicated to the long history of exhibitions at Palazzo Grassi.
The first edition focuses on the exhibitions presented between the 1950’s and the 1970’s. The talks assess the relationship between art and fashion, the role of the Marinotti family in the life of Palazzo Grassi and their relationship with Bruno Munari, Carlo Scarpa, Asger Jorn, Michel Tapié and Lucio Fontana. The conference aims to bring to the public’s attention the key role played by the International Centre for Arts and Costume, which opened in 1951 and presented exhibitions of contemporary artists between 1959 and 1978.
