Ghiaccio bollente: una storia barocca
On the occasion of the exhibition La Pelle - Luc Tuymans at Palazzo Grassi, the Teatrino presents a calendar of events to discover the work and research of this artist.
Luca Scarlini, writer and performer, is the protagonist of an appointment dedicated to Flemish and Dutch Baroque. The storytelling focuses on the influence that Italy, and in particular Rome, capital of the arts at the beginning of the XVI century, had on many artists from Northern Europe. Furthermore, it explores Caravaggio’s fundamental lesson for the group of Flemish and Dutch artists, among others Gerrit van Honthorst, Hendrick ter Brugghen, Dirck van Baburen and Matthias Stomer, whose works represented the darkest aspects of reality.
