'Each work is a risk' talk by Elisabeth Lebovici

The art historian Elisabeth Lebovici, author of a text in the catalogue of the exhibition Marlene Dumas. open-end, is at the Teatrino for a conference dedicated to the work of Marlene Dumas on view until 8 January 2023.

Elisabeth Lebovici’s talk focuses on the figures depicted standing, reclining or bent, the mouths locked in a kiss, the tortured bodies that emerge from the artist’s paintings. Through her gestures and their different speeds, playing through fluidity and ghostly textures, Marlene Dumas involves her work in a constant process of proximity and disidentification. Each work is a risk.
