Dayanita Singh, Robbie Whitehead and Khushnu Panthaki Hoof

Dayanita Singh, a Pinault Collection artist whose work was exhibited in 2023 at Punta della Dogana on the occasion of the group exhibition ‘Icônes’, presents a tribute to the great Indian architect BV Doshi, who passed away in 2023, at the Teatrino with the screening of the video Portrait of a House: Conversations with BV Doshi, followed by the presentation of the eponymous book, published by Apartamento Publishing S.L., in a dialogue between the artist, architect Khushnu Panthaki Hoof and Doshi's granddaughter, and Apartamento’s editorial director, Robbie Whitehead.

The video and book Portrait of a House: Conversations with BV Doshi retrace years of conversations between photo‑artist Dayanita Singh and BV Doshi, presented alongside black-and-white portraits of the architect’s famous Kamala House, filled with his family. In a collaborative exchange that underlines the affinity of creative practices between the two, BV responds directly to Dayanita’s photographs, revealing the hidden motivations behind his architectural innovations.

At the end of the meeting, Dayanita Singh will be available for a book signing.
