Drawing on “Ensemble. Julie Mehretu” currently on view at Palazzo Grassi, altriformati proposes an evening of screenings dedicated to the artist Tacita Dean, presently part of the exhibition. The screenings of 16mm films are accompanied by an overview of the artist’s film work and a commentary by the poet Antonella Anedda.

Static photography and movement of the subject mark all films in the program: Disappearance at Sea II (1997), Fata Morgana (2022), Fernsehturm (2001), Disappearance at Sea (1997), The Green Ray (2001). The selected works shown together for the first time, range from Dean’s 1990s production to his most recent pieces, testifying to the silent eloquence offered by the artist’s fluid, undisturbed and attentive camerawork.
