The participants of the cultural mediation project Altri Sguardi, aimed at refugees and migrants, meet the public of the exhibition "Julie Mehretu. Ensemble" and present their personal interpretation of some works currently on view at Palazzo Grassi.
The mediators of this year who will meet visitors of the "Ensemble" exhibition are : Sujon Bepary (Bangladesh), Rodrigo de Jesús Ayala Valencia (Colombia), Renato De Marchi Moyano (Bolivia), Mohamed Garoui (Tunisia), Valerii Shakin (Russia), Samiullah Shinwari (Afghanistan).
The tour was supervised by the tutor Elisa Etrari and former project participants Gustavo Alfredo Garcìa Figueroa and Evgeniia Liubova.
Among the works that will be explored by the participants are one of Julie Mehretu's best-known canvas, Black City (2007), Forever on the Verge of Becoming (2023) and Field of Mars (2016) by Jessica Rankin, created using the embroidery technique, as well as Chimera (2013), Hineni (2018), Your hands are like two shovels digging in me (sphinx) (2021-2022) and Atlas (2016-2021) by Mehretu.
Altri Sguardi is part of the series of initiatives and talks Palazzo Grassi dedicated to the theme of migrations.
Participation in the guided tours is free with an admission ticket valid for the exhibition.
