The music programme Long Playing, curated by Nicola Di Croce and Francesco Bergamo (SSH! Sound Studies Hub, Iuav University of Venice), returns with four new appointments dedicated to listening to musical editions in the auditorium space, accompanied by authors.

Long Playing takes its title from the standard format of a vinyl record (LP), a unit of time measurement that has marked the way in which music albums have been enjoyed and listened to since the end of WWII.

Programme:

Monday 14 April at 7pm
IRA by Iosonouncane (Trovarobato, Numero1, 2024)
Musician and composer Iosonouncane presents his latest album IRA (2024) released by the reborn label Numero 1 (distributed by Sony), which collaborates for this release with the Trovarobato label. The 17-track album was written and arranged by Iosonouncane in every single part, note and inflection, starting from around 15 hours of drafts and test recordings.

Monday 5 May at 7pm
The Artistic Image Is Always a Miracle d'Alessandra Novaga (Die Schachtel, 2024)
Guitarist and composer Alessandra Novaga presents her album The Artistic Image Is Always a Miracle (Die Schachtel, 2024), with compositions freely inspired by the life and work of Russian film director Andrej Tarkovsky and the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Monday 19 May at 7pm
Ripari minimi by Marco Paltrinieri (Canti Magnetici, 2024)
Marco Paltrinieri presents his second album, Ripari minimi (Canti Magnetici, 2024), which brings together ten tracks, almost all instrumental, that transcend genre boundaries by exploring the tension between song-based composition and concrete music experimentation. It invites listeners to explore the complexities of both personal and sonic realms.

Monday 9 June at 7pm
Teredo Navalis by Enrico Coniglio (Gruenrekorder, 2020)
Environmental sound engineer and sound artist Enrico Coniglio presents Teredo Navalis (Gruenrekorder, 2020) together with a screening of the film 32 Sounds by Sam Green. His research is interested in the aesthetics of the landscape and brings special attention to the context of the Venetian lagoon. His music incorporates a diverse range of stylistic influences, blending elements of ambient, drone, modern classical and field recordings.
