Hicham Berrada - Presage

The artist Hicham Berrada and the musician Laurent Durupt present at the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi Presage, a performance work conceived by the Maroccan artist who is featured at the collective exhibition Luogo e Segni at Punta della Dogana. The performance is set around the metamorphosis of fantastic micro-worlds composed of natural and artificial elements, between science and poetry.

The Présages series brings together aquatic landscapes chemically activated in glass tanks like hermetic little worlds, which are made out of minerals immersed in an aqueous solution with the artist deploying a whole range of components according to the colours and shapes. The imaginary landscapes that Berrada recreates are projected simultaneously on a large screen.

The pianist and composer Laurent Durupt creates a live accompaniment to the performance.
