Grand Tour, the annual appointment dedicated to sharing best practices, ideas and goals among international museums and institutions, is back. The guest institution of this year’s edition is the contemporary art museum Van Abbemuseum of Eindhoven.
In the course of the two days, the Van Abbemuseum conducts a talk open to professionals working in the field of education in museums (by invitation) to share experiences, activities and programmes, and organises a workshop for the Venetian visitors.

Van Abbemuseum shares some of its best practices in involving constituents and communities in co-designing exhibitions and mediation tools. A collective moment of exchange and discussion follows to allow participants to tackle the themes and methods.

Introduction of the programme of the day by the Van Abbemuseum
Workshop 'Braiding Conversations': the participants are invited to a collective braiding session where they braid the conversation together while sharing thoughts on topics relevant to rethinking the way we "do museum".
Workshop 'Writing love letters': What if you walk through the museum as if it were a nightclub? Could you dance with a sculpture or do you secretly get aroused by a painting? Participans are invited to write love letters to artworks to bring a more queer and bodily perspective into the museum.
Workshop 'Drag the toilets': the day ends with an playful intervention in the toilets of the museum.
