Donne, Scienza e Sport: il Rugby

The Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi hosts two events of the WE+ are Science festival initiated by the Ca' Foscari University of Venice to encourage the participation of young women in STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) by mobilising the awareness about the need to address the gender gap.

In both sports and science, it is possible to break through the psychological barriers that often hinder free choices and achieve actual gender equality. Through science, an anthropological perspective and the accounts of young women athletes, rugby becomes a means of empowerment and emancipation.

Athletes from the senior women's team of the Rugby Riviera 1975 share their experiences.

Following the talk, there will be a screening of the film Power Meri (2018, 1h 16') by Joanna Lester.
