Palazzo Grassi presents a new film program comprising five evenings of short and feature films curated by critic and curator Dominique Païni. Inspired by the themes of migration and solitude, "Alone Among Others" traces the experiences and feelings of foreigners everywhere through a film selection that includes the works of iconic as well as recently rediscovered directors.

From the big cities of the early 20th century to contemporary megalopolises, urban space with all its contradictions has been the ideal setting for numerous filmmakers in stories of exile, sometimes full of melodramatic sadness and sometimes of comical eccentricity.
